About Us
Dr. Matthew I. Janzen, DC, CCEP, ART
Dr. Michael E. Janzen, DC, CCEP, ART
Dr. Shinichi Kino, DC, ART
Dr. Matt and Dr. Mike both went in to the chiropractic health care field because of their driven desire to provide the most advanced and effective natural health care. They believe in a system of medicine that attempts to identify and correct the root causes of health problems and not just cover them up with drugs.
Our Philosophy
They have veered from the traditional philosophy of "drugs first, ask questions later" and have made it their goal to inform the community of safer and effective solutions. The doctors are on the cutting edge of the future of health care with the latest natural techniques and treatments for effectively treating all types of injuries.
Education
Dr.'s Matt and Mike both attended Palmer College of Chiropractic West and graduated Salutatorian in 1995 and Valedictorian in 1999, respectively. After graduation, both performed their internship with a well-recognized sports chiropractor, Nick Athens (chiropractor for the SF Giants currently and most of the 49ers from the 80's-early 90's). Here the doctors were given the opportunity to work with high level and elite athletes of all types.
Specialty Education
After learning from Dr. Athens for almost 1 year, they both began taking post-doctorate and continuing education courses that emphasized sports injuries. The first was Active Release Techniques (ART) taught by Dr. Mike Leahy of Colorado Springs. The second was the Certified Chiropractic Extremity Practitioner (CCEP) taught by Dr. Kevin Hearon of Idaho. Further training was also attained in prevention of repetitive strain and cumulative trauma injuries from the International Academy of Chiropractic Occupational Health Consultants.
Volunteer Work
The doctors have annually been invited along with other doctors from around the nation in treating the tri-athletes at the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. The doctors also provided complementary care to CityTeam and the Salvation Army Rehab Center, as well as to various sport organizations throughout the valley. They also provide community talks to various groups such as Family Life Center in San Jose, and to assisted living retirement homes throughout the valley.
Sports and Interests
The doctors have always had an interest in sports. From varsity basketball in high school to recreational triathlons, volleyball, softball, and basketball leagues to windsurfing and weightlifting, the doctors try and stay active. This allows them not only to stay in shape, but get injured. They know what it's like. |
